Train like your life depends on it!

For the last couple weeks of this strength cycle we have been talking about the importance of positions and speed in the jerk.  We have repeated many of the same things over and over again to help it stick.  As the weight continues to get heavier this week it is especially important to stay focused on the points we have made and practiced.  Try to make every lift, no matter the weight, look the same.   In the Fire Department we had a saying that we used when teaching training classes…”Train like your life depends on it, because it does.”  This was just a reminder to everyone that even though we were just training we needed to treat it like the real thing.  There are many parallels that can be brought from this to our CrossFit training.  When you are warming up, put just as much effort into your setup and speed as you would if you were going for a new 1 rep max.  We aren’t training to go into fires or rappel off of buildings(some of you are) but the physical training we do will help our health, quality and duration of life.  So I say to  you…Train like your life depends on it, because it does!
