Workout of the Day (WOD), Monday, 1/20/14:

Power clean and jerk: Work up to 75% of your 1 rep max

  • 1 Power clean and jerk + 1 jerk, 5 sets

Then,

Event 3, Carolina Fitness Challenge

10 Minute AMRAP:

  • 3 Handstand push-ups (T2-w/abmat, T3-box)
  • 6 Power Cleans (155,105)(135,95)(95,55)
  • 9 Chest to Bar pull-ups(T2-standard pull-up)(T3-banded)

*Post power clean and jerk weights and AMRAP reps to comments.

We all had a great time at the Carolina Fitness Challenge on Saturday.  It is inspiring to watch CrossFitters pushing themselves to the limits.  Today we will try out a WOD from the Challenge.  We will be doing Event 3(posted above).  Next weekend is the RadBar NC Fit Open.  Several of our CFBC athletes will be competing.  We would love to have a big cheering section so please come out and support if you can.

The strength/Olympic work today is power clean and jerk.  You will build up to 75% of your 1 rep max, then perform 5 sets of this sequence: Power clean and jerk, lower back to your shoulders and perform one more jerk.  Lets get to it!
