Speed is Good

Today the focus is on speed and technique.  The weights will remain light and I want you to move fast.  Speed is everything in Olympic lifting.  However, don’t let the thought of being fast make you impatient causing early pulling or technique break down.  Establish a good set up, focus on hitting all the positions, building speed through the middle and quickly pulling under.  Have fun!

Workout of the Day(WOD) 8/16/13:

Snatch-Focus on speed and technique

  • 50% 1 rep max x3
  • 60% x 2
  • 70% x 2

Then,

For time:

  • 30 Snatches (athlete picks weight.  Do not exceed 135,95)
