Dip, Drive, Press!
Many of you have requested more of the Wednesday skill time. After the push press there should be plenty of time for this. We are excited that everyone is working so hard to learn and master new and old skills. Take some time before you get to class to think about what you would like to work on. Today you also get an opportunity to challenge your previous one rep max in the push press. Dip, Drive and Press! It seems so simple but many times we mess it up. First, establish a good rack position with the bar on your shoulders and elbows down and out in front of the bar. Then, Dip straight down keeping your torso upright while pushing your knees out, Drive straight back up powering the bar off of your shoulders and Press into a full lockout. Remember no rebending of the knees!
