We are into our second day of Olympic lifting bias.  Today the focus will be on the clean and jerk.  Here is an explanation from Coach Burgener on how to approach these days;

“Begin with loads that allow you to perform the entire set properly (full range of motion with correct technique). Each week, seek to increase the weight, but only to the degree that you can keep proper form and range of motion. If you cannot perform the sets properly, don’t hesitate to reduce the weight and/or substitute appropriate skill transfer exercises until you can.”

If there is some time after the Olympic work we will work on other skills that you pick.  If you guys have not claimed your Social Wod profile make sure to set it up.  It doesn’t take long.  We are really excited about this!  Let us know what you think.

Workout of the Day (WOD) 12/4/13:

6 Sets:

  • 3 Position clean + 1 push press
  • 3 Position clean + 1 push jerk
  • 3 Position clean + 1 split jerk

*You will be allowed to drop the bar after the overhead portion.  Rest 3-5 seconds and start into the next 3 position clean.
