Jerks and Goats
For the next 4 weeks we will be doing jerks on Wednesdays. You can choose between push or split jerk. All Tier 3 athletes will be push jerking for this cycle. Whichever one you choose you will start and finish in the same position. Take some time to focus on your setup. Make sure to establish a solid rack position with your elbows down and out. From there make sure you dip straight down and move quickly back up. Speed under the bar is key! Treat each set of 3 as 3 individual lifts. Your first and last reps should look the same. After we are done jerking, we will spend some more time killing goats. If you are like me, you have plenty to choose from. Pick the one that gets you the most and work on it. The coaches will be moving around helping you each class. Take advantage of this time. It pays off!
